Good skiers can direct their own improvement by setting themes to play with as they ski. Experts are masters of maintaining balance regardless of the situation and it’s a perfect place to start, especially in early-season skiing. Key points:
- Hold hands forward and away from the body. Think of relaxing upper body and shoulders.
- Don’t focus on terrain near the ski tips, look down the slope at least two turns.
- Develop awareness of foot-feeling so you can avoid levering forward and back on the boot cuffs. Ski with the soles of your feet.
- Don’t avoid bumpy or gnarly terrain, it’s the perfect place to challenge your balance and take your game up a notch.
