Salomon XTend goggles – better fit, less fogging, greater field of vision

Salomon engineers studied every goggle out there for ways to improve the frame, lenses and anti-fog performance. The result is a full range of high performance winter goggles that deliver in several key areas.

“Salomon only launches new product lines when we believe we can offer significant innovation to the market,” explains Elina Vorger, Salomon Goggles Product Manager, “this was true with skis, with boots, even with bindings 50 years ago. Since XTend delivers three significant advantages versus other goggles in the market, we are confident that we are once again delivering real innovation.”
Innovation 1
When it comes to balance and safety it is hard to overstate the importance of peripheral vision in skiing. XTend provides 20% greater field of vision. With a larger lens surrounded by a narrow frame, you get a wider periphery with less obstruction.

Innovation 2
Thermo Control System for improved fog control. Large, scoop shaped air vents create low pressure zones that pull moisture away from the lens and face, to eliminate fogging. The Thermal Control System works equally well when used with a beanie or a helmet.

Innovation 3
Better Fit. Dubbed “Perfect Fit,” the Custom Frame concept is a flexible membrane between the frame and the face foam that softly adapts to any face shape, improving comfort all day. Two frame sizes are offered to accommodate large and small faces. And to top it off, the best available optical quality and impact resistance is provided by BNL and Zeiss lenses in a range of coatings for every level of light and weather.

Salomon Prophet helmet – durable hybrid construction, Custom Air fit

Developed in collaboration with Salomon’s international team of freeski athletes, the Prophet embodies the constantly evolving attitudes of passionate mountain people. As team rider Victor Galuchot says, “I am not a freerider and I am not a freestyler. I refuse to be limited by a category. It’s the mountains that define my experience. I am a skier.” Prophet is a pure freeski helmet for skiers like Victor who demand the best technical gear, totally adapted to their kind of skiing.

Prophet benefits from Salomon’s Thermo Control System (TCS). First introduced in the Alium helmet, TCS provides great ventilation control for any kind of weather or level of exertion, and a freeski grid prevents snow from entering the vents. Prophet uses a very durable hybrid construction, combining a very strong upper shell with a light, EPS design, resulting in a helmet that is strong enough to stand up to rough treatment on backcountry trips, but light enough that it feels great when you’re out there all day.

Atomic Highlight 4 – Nomad All Mountain helmet

Atomic calls the new Nomad helmet a game-changer. Nomad stakes its reputation on three important features: 1. Dual climate control diagram Live Fit relies on a special memory foam for an instant fit 2. Low profile design 3. Instantaneous custom fit It’s the last point that will mean a lot to many skiers. The secret is a material called Poron XRD memory foam. As soon as the skier puts the helmet on, the foam adapts to the shape of the head creating a custom, comfortable fit. Also, Poron XRD is more durable than other helmet foams so the fit lasts longer. The dual-zone ventilation system allows independent front and rear air flow adjustment.
